THINK!
I love it when remarkably simple concepts make a profound difference in an organization. This week, it was the power of thinking. Actually, the kind of thinking i’m trying to describe is really more profound than just simple thought, it is forward thinking. It is solving problems before they even exist. I believe every person probably has the capacity to do this, however few people actually do, but it could be one of the most powerful tools we have. Inevitably there will always be situations that arise that we can not plan for and must do the best damage control we can. However, what if we focused some small amount of time to simply think about how our organization operates, what our customers really need, or what the implications of our actions may be.
All that to say I must brag on the team at Brandswag. Over the course of the last 2 weeks every single one of our team members has solved a problem that didnt yet exist. Whether it was Stephen developing programs to streamline our operations, Amy showing me a part of the client process i didnt even know existed, or Austin finding inefficiencies in a particular billing method, I am blown away at the creative problem solving that is taking place. When you’re building a team, look for people who want to make your organization better without you even asking, people who THINK. Actually look for people who are better and smarter than you. We got better as an organization this week, and it is because people took the reigns because they care, and you cant buy that and you cant teach it. I feel blessed to have such a great team!
