Traditional Marketing is Saved by Social Media

Posted on June 30, 2009 by KyleLacy

It is no secret that traditional marketing is declining but before we get into the guts of this post I want to define what traditional marketing entails:

  • Radio
  • TV
  • Billboards
  • Direct Mail / Snail Mail

This is just a small snippet of traditional marketing. A way to spot traditional marketing is a one-way communication medium. You send out the message to the masses and HOPE for a response.

Social media is saving the dieing mediums of traditional marketing. What can strengthen a direct mail campaign..? Leading people to a two-way communication platform that entices and promotes their ability as a consumer to create and manage YOUR brand. Let me rephrase that because frankly… it isn’t your brand anymore…

Social media and the Internet is the support system that will save the concepts of traditional marketing. Where does it start and where does it end? That is something that strategy and online development can solve..

Where are you starting? Are you supporting your traditional marketing with the Internet?
